Adrian Jones has been crowned the champion of the 2024 Newcastle Open, beating Ireland’s Derek Murphy in the final.
It was NEBA’s biggest Open, with 78 players taking part in the main, consolation, last chance and doubles events, as well as a Friday freeroll.
It was held at the event’s new home – the Masonic Hall in Gateshead.
And in the consolation event, Will Cockerell came away with the Lindisfarne Trophy, defeating CJ Uttley.
While Scotland’s Beth Young took home the Hadrian Trophy (the Last Chance), beating Ian Turner in the final.
And it was an all-Scotland final in the doubles – with Brian Lawrence and Karen Slawek defeating Rosaleen and Beth Young, While Kev Jones won the Friday freeroll.
Tournament director Keith Gill said: “On behalf of NEBA, I’d like to thank everyone for coming along and supporting our event.
“It was great to see so many people at our Open.
“Congratulations to all of our winners – especially Adrian, our new champion. But everyone who took part helped make it our most successful Open so far. We hope everyone enjoyed the weekend…and we’ll see you next year.”

Next year’s Open will be held at the Masonic Hall from October 10-12.
